Method for producing phosphate-functionalized graphite is described. According to this method, graphite is broken into small pieces, exposed to air containing oxygen and water, and then subjected to photochemical treatment. This method enables the production of graphite functionalized with phosphate groups, which cannot be achieved by conventional mechanochemical methods. Moreover, this method is conducted in a very simple and economical manner, making it suitable for large-scale production.
